Down the drain with creativity

With everyone becoming a ‘graphic designer’ these days, the graphic design industry is getting more and more crowded. Clients are losing trust and think they know better than the professional because they’ve got a copy of Photoshop on their computer.

Aim here, Mr. Client

Speider Schneider wrote an interesting article about this ‘death on creativity’ on Processed Identity which I think everybody should read:

I asked if he wouldn’t mind if I had a few people look over his work and make some suggestions on how he performed the operation. One of them was my 10 year-old son because he was a whiz at the game “Operation.” When I came to, I was in the gutter wearing nothing but a hospital gown and my appendix still rupturing.

Graphic designer Victor van Gaasbeek

Victor van Gaasbeek

Victor van Gaasbeek is a 20 year old graphic designer from Barendrecht, the Netherlands. He’s currently attending the ‘Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam‘ where he’s in his last year of the Master Class Graphic Design.

Ever since he got his first pencils as a child, he’s been drawing pictures and wanted to be an artist. Eventually this dream of becoming a drawing artist wasn’t to far away of what he’s doing now.

Victor’s works consist of identity design, illustrations, type design and more. He’s illustrated his first book for Peter Muller and is now focussing on the more illustrative projects like Sliced Pixel. He’s also doing some photography on the side, which is just a hobby.

Here we have a few examples of his excellent work:
