The works of Nancy Kers

Nancy Kers is a very talented illustrator from Schiedam, The Netherlands. She studied at the Willem de Kooning Art Academy in Rotterdam between 1998 and 2002 and graduated as an illustrator. After graduating she started working as a freelance illustrator and she still does.

The works of Roy Korpel

Roy Korpel (born in Schiedam, 1979) is a Dutch illustrator. When he was only 6 years old, he discovered the crayons and started drawing away. Especially the copying of Donald Duck was an obsession.

In his school reports of group 5 and 6 there are notes from his teacher saying: “It’s nice to see Roy drawing so well, but something other than Donald Duck would be nice for a change!”.

Now, many more years later he can safely say that he’s built up his own style in drawing. His kids are a huge source of inspiration, as you can tell from his portfolio. With humor and a hint of sarcasm, Roy puts a smile on everyone’s face.

Thé Tjong-Khing – Max Velthuijs Award 2010

Thé Tjong-Khing (born August 4, 1933) has won the Max Velthuijs award of 2010. The Max Velthuijs award is a triannual oeuvre prize for the best Dutch illustrator for children’s books.

His numerous spiritual illustrations are remarkable agile and graceful, even in their notorious awkwardness and clumsiness. Martijn van Dam is a 29 year old Dutch graphic designer from Amsterdam. He’s working as a graphic designer at Momkai, an independent interactive agency. In his free time, he creates amazing illustrations with Photoshop and Illustrator. The use of colours are excellent and the details in his works are just perfect.

Jelle Gijsberts is an illustrator from Amersfoort, the Netherlands. He’s got a fantastic imagination which is visible throughout his portfolio. Since his graduation, he has been freelancing in the field of illustration and animation. He has illustrated children’s books and has worked with clients like Chupa Chups, Clini Clowns and Unicef.

Jelle prefers working in Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator and tries to use and combine these as much as possible. The most important advantage while working digital is that you don’t have to plan, sketch and think everything through before you start. Any mistake can easily disappear with a simple ctrl + z. You don’t need to throw away the whole drawing. As a result, there is less frustration and much more freedom.

Wouter Tulp, a Dutch illustrator

Wouter Tulp is an illustrator from the Netherlands. He attended the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam. Since his graduation in 2001 he has been making a living as an illustrator.
