Furniture Ball by Laurens van Wieringen

Laurens van Wieringen, born 1974 in Nijmegen the Netherlands, studied at the Arnhem Institute for the Arts. After this he continued his study in Product Design at the Royal College of Art in London for his master degree. He now has started his own design studio in Amsterdam.

His attitude towards design encourages startling and refreshing ideas. He is a defiant explorer of shapes and materials by using, inventing or twisting production methods.

One of his products that really stands out is the Furniture Ball. This Furniture Ball consists of five seat sections each with their own character, a lounge chair, a sort of cradle and rocking elements. Together they form a white sphere.

The furniture Ball was presented with edible scale models of the Furniture Ball. Different tastes like; pear, apple, drambuie, cinnamon and various sorts of chocolate make them a welcome present.
