Hawaii-Sized Island Made of Recycled Plastic
What can you do with all the plastic waste floating around in the Pacific Ocean? A group of Dutch architects has an answer to this question. Their idea is to create an island, about the same size as Hawaii, out of it.

The island would be populated by ‘climate refugees’ who will live in recycled plastic homes and work on farms or grow seaweed. The idea is to make the entire plastic island self-sufficient with the habitants producing their own food and energy.
Here are a few sketches and ideas of what the island is going to look like:
Beaches are placed near the housing for residents to enjoy.

I am very interested in this project as it is a chance to help the environment and encourage other people to recycle; the inspiration can prove that you can make all sorts of things with recycled materials. R.H.N. is an environmental charity set up by youths and we will be happy to provide funds to help build the island. Please visit our website in your spare time. Thanks.

This is an absolute report on shit. Plastic is recyclable and it burns really good to make electricity. Modern scrubbers in smoke stacks eliminate any air born contaminates.
